Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use wrigl:

  • Account information: your first name, last name, and email address when you register or sign in with Google or Apple.
  • Voice recordings: audio recorded through the microphone when you capture a wrigl. Recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and are not stored by OpenAI after processing.
  • Transcriptions: text transcribed from your voice recordings, stored to your account so you can access your notes across sessions.
  • Note content: the text of your notes is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your daily AI insight summary.
  • Calendar and reminder data: event titles and dates when you choose to save a wrigl to your calendar or reminders via EventKit. No data leaves your device via this service.
  • Profile photo: if you choose to upload an avatar image.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide and improve the wrigl service:

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To transcribe your voice recordings into text notes.
  • To generate your daily AI insight from your note content.
  • To create calendar events and reminders at your explicit request.
  • To personalise your experience (e.g. displaying your name in the app).

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your note content and account data are stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS.

Session information is stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted and sandboxed to this app. Plain-text passwords are never stored.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or destruction.

4. Third-Party AI Services

wrigl uses third-party AI services that receive your personal data. You are asked to consent to this before these features activate.

  • OpenAI (Whisper API): your audio recordings are transmitted to OpenAI's servers (api.openai.com) for speech-to-text transcription. Audio data is processed transiently and is not stored or used to train models by OpenAI under API usage terms. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic (Claude API): the text content of your notes is transmitted to Anthropic's servers (api.anthropic.com) to generate your daily AI insight summary. Note content is not used to train Anthropic's models under API usage terms. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

You may decline AI consent during onboarding. Declining will prevent use of the app as AI transcription is core to its functionality.

5. Other Third-Party Services

wrigl also uses the following services that do not receive your note content:

  • Supabase: backend database and authentication. See their Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Sign-In (Apple Inc.): if you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple's authentication service processes your credential. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Sign-In (Google LLC): if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is processed by Google's OAuth service. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple EventKit: used to create reminders and calendar events on your device only. No data leaves your device via this service.
  • RevenueCat (RevenueCat Inc.): used to manage in-app subscription state. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

6. Microphone and Speech Access

wrigl requests access to your microphone to capture voice notes. This access is used exclusively within the app for the purpose of creating notes. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app. Revoking microphone access will disable the voice capture feature.

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you within the app.
  • Update or correct your account information via the Profile screen.
  • Delete your account at any time from Profile Settings → App Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all notes, and your profile from our servers.

If you signed in with Apple or Google, please also manage your connected app permissions through those providers' account settings.

To exercise any additional rights (data portability, restriction of processing), please contact us at privacy@wrigl.app.

8. Children's Privacy

wrigl is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, you will be asked to review and accept the updated policy before continuing to use wrigl. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
